A snowy Saturday did not deter shoppers at the Old-Time Holiday celebration in Fairhaven. On the contrary, it made for a very festive atmosphere in the center of town as people moved from the Town Hall Shops to the marketplaces at the First Congregational Church, Unitarian Memorial Church, and activities at the Millicent Library and Our Lady’s Haven. And all the while the church bells rang out Christmas Carols.
Town Hall bustled inside and outside with shoppers able to buy home made items, hot chocolate, a variety of food items, and raffle tickets for gift certificates, gift baskets and more.
The Town Hall shops were reserved for non-profits only, and groups like the Fairhaven High School National Honor Society, FHS PTO, Scouts, and improvement associations all reported brisk sales.
New this year, Fairhaven Cable Access TV, Channel 18, live-streamed the event from Town Hall, and gave people the chance to create a video holiday greeting.
