In an epic comeback Mason Santos and Nathan Santos had triples and Andrew Gibson finished off a rally from down six with a game-winning single. Elf’s got a great performance from Isaiah Lopes (15Ks).
Elfs Landscaping 6, Roland’s Tire 5
Isaiah Lopez had a laser-shot home run, while Jaren Megan, Nate Deslauriers, Patrick Butler & Nathan Gamache had hits for Elf’s and Jake Macolini and Jaren Megan pitched. For Roland’s, Owen Vieira had a key hit and pitched well, while Brady Becotte, Connor Bonds & Josh Vieira added hits.
Century House 6, Lions Club 1
Evan Carvalho hit a 3-run homer, the first of his career, and Donovan Burgo pitched 4 shutout innings for LC.
MINORS
National Lumber 9, Ocean’s Fleet 1
Richie Senna led off for National with a homerun followed by a walk and a double and played well on defense. Ryan Pires & Gavin Austin — “The Dynamic Duo” — combined for 12 Ks in 5 innings. Cadin Figueredo pitched well for Ocean’s, while Andrew Medeiros had a blast to left for a triple and did well behind the plate.
Varsity Club 12, Alden Court 0
Varsity was led by Aiden Smith (11 Ks and big offensive day), while Alex Hu was 2-for-2 and Dylan Mendez hammered the ball at the plate. For Alden, Gabriel Alves showed great defense at 3rd base, and Madison Lewis had the catch of the year in the outfield.
PJ Keating 7, Elias Plastering 6
In a hard-fought battle between even teams, Harrison “H-Bomb” Cabral had a deep H-bomb into left and pitched 3 innings, while Ryder Chase made his first mound appearance as PJ got its first win. For Elias, Matty Chang and Liam Pickup pitched well.
PJ Keating 9, Acushnet Company 8
Chad Hebert had a double and three RBI’s for PJ Keating, which got an unassisted double play from Ryan Leblanc in a great team win. Young pitchers Michael Manzone, Jackson Williams, and Ryan Leblanc all pitched well. Leading the way at the plate for Acushnet Co. were Andrew Olivera (2 for 2 with two doubles) and Ethan Bryant (2-3). Kudos to Jacob Florent, who had his first time on the mound.
National Lumber 10, Ray & Mike’s 0
Gavin Austin pitched 3 great innings, striking out 7, while Aiden Powers was on base 3 times including a hard hit triple. Ayden Chisholm caught two solid innings and also turned a double play while playing first base. For Ray and Mike’s, Jackson Ponte had two great at-bats with a hard-hit ball right at the second baseman and a walk, while TJ Hechavarria got his first career strikeout on the mound.
Varsity Club 14, Ocean’s Fleet 0
Kaden Jeffrey threw 69 pitches for the complete-game shutout.
Fairhaven Lumber 9, Ocean’s Fleet 8
Fairhaven Lumber was able to rally in the bottom half of the last inning to pull out a win. Some big contributors were Nathan “King” Felix who had a bases-clearing triple and a shut down inning on the mound. Connor Sylvia went 2-3 with 3 RBIs. Andrew Medeiros had a triple and knocked in 3 runs, Xavier Andrews had a double and Cadin Figueiredo had two hits and pitched three solid innings.
Varsity Club 13, J&R Plastics 1
Luke Carreiro, Alex Hu and Aidan Smith combined for the win as Varsity Club continued its red-hot early run.
Alden Court 10, J&R Plastics 1
It was a big night for Ben Comey, who went 3-for-3 at the plate and pitched 2 shutout innings for the win with 6 strikeouts. Gabriel Alves got on base 3 times for Alden. For J&R, Gary Fleurent had a hit and scored the run.
Acushnet Co. 8, Alden Court 8
The bats were booming on White Field in Acushnet, as the teams went back and forth before earning a hard-fought tie.
PJ Keating 4, Elias 2
Harrison Cabral and Chad Hebert finished with 12 strikeouts between them to lead the victory.
