Letters: Another Week of Failure

March 10, 2021 by Staff Writer

Another Week of Failure

So it’s been another week of failure by our Selectboard partners Mr. Freitas and Mr. Silvia. We have no permanent (or qualified) Town Administrator, and Mr. Freitas can’t even get himself together enough to even schedule a meeting to discuss the next steps. Pathetic.

This looks more and more like a corrupt attempt to usher in an unqualified insider as a Town Administrator when you have fully qualified, interviewed and screening committee- approved applicants waiting to step in. This is quite possibly the most important responsibility the Selectboard has on their plate, and we watch Mr. Freitas and Mr. Silvia completely railroad the screening committee hiring process they voted to create.

That screening committee, and the professional recruiter Mr. Bernie Lynch, deserve the town’s deepest apologies for the inexcusable ineptitude and incompetence Mr. Freitas and Mr. Silvia continue to show them. This should not be tolerated, Fairhaven.

Phil Washko, Fairhaven
