The Choice is Clear
Our November elections give us clear differences that will determine the quality of our lives in our towns, region, state, country and world for generations to come.
The polarization of our two major political parties has turned off a lot of younger people. Yet they’re inheriting many wars, climate driven destruction and other major challenges that impact their futures. At 75, I worry about what’s ahead for them.
So in November, I will vote to protect the Constitution. I will vote for honesty, decency and integrity and for loving our neighbors, regardless of their race, religion, or who they love. I will vote for immigrants, like my family once was, who want to live and contribute to our country but who have been targets of political hate and violence. I will vote for all people, especially for women, to have the right to make decisions about our own bodies. I will vote for freedom.
But the other major political party thrives on sowing divisive seeds throughout our region by claiming to protect our children, mimicking national themes of erasing historical truths, consistently spreading disinformation and actually admitting to their own lies. Their frightening road map to limit our freedom is now in print. It’s known as Project 2025. It outlines a conservative agenda and is considered a blueprint for a president with unprecedented authority including removing civil servants at will and replacing them with only loyalists to their conservative agenda.
I hope the choice is clear to you too. Please join me in voting for honest leadership by electing Kamala Harris as our President and Mark Sylvia as our State Representative.
Liz DiCarlo, Mattapoisett
