Russia and Iran
You may ask what is the connection between the two and what is the significance. First of all, the leaders are both totally ruthless. Putin is engaged in a war where human life and suffering is of no consequence. The death and destruction he has unleashed on Ukraine bear witness to this. One can’t but be astonished at the bravery and resolve of the Ukrainian people.
In a previous letter I contrasted the difference between Biden and Trump and the way they conducted foreign policy. Trump fully understood you can only achieve peace through strength and the will and resolve to use it when needed. Your enemies have to fear you.
I say the debacle in Afghanistan where we abandoned hundreds of Americans and Afghans played a crucial role in Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine.
In the last 18 months of Trump presidency we didn’t lose a single service man or woman. He told the Taliban leaders what would happen to them if they tried anything during our pullout from Afghanistan. They only had to reflect upon the death of Soleimani, second in command in Iran who was responsible for the deaths of thousands of American soldiers. He killed Al Baghdadi the leader of Al Qaada which brought down the twin towers on September 11, 2001. 3,000 Americans were killed.
When Biden canceled out Poland’s offer to send 28 MIG 29 fighters to Ukraine he showed what a weak and feckless president he is. What kind of message do you think he is sending to Putin when one minute he says to Russia they need regime change and then walks back a half hour later.
Concerning Iran
Our state department is engaged in talks with Iran supposedly to stop them from getting enough enriched uranium to enable them to develop nuclear weapons. They won’t even talk to us. We have to use Russia as a go between. We propose to give them billions of dollars the way Obama did to get this phony agreement.
I say this is insanity. Iran’s stated goal is to wipe Israel off the face of the map and kill Americans. Iran will use these billions to fund terrorist groups like Hezbollah which fires rockets into Israel and destabilizes the middle east region.
This is in stark contrast to Trump’s policy where he heavily sanctioned Iran which severely crippled their ability to develop atomic weapons and fund terrorist groups like Hezbollah. Moreover he moved America’s embassy to Jerusalem and established a peace accord with the Arab Emirates, the first such agreement in 20 years.
The former prime minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, who was recently interviewed by Mark Levin on Fox News, outlined the consequences if this happens. Iran will be going ahead with its development of ICBMs with their capacity to reach us. They will have nuclear warheads. There will be a proliferation of nuclear weapons in the middle east. They will use these funds to fund their nuclear programs and terrorists like Hezbollah.
I say lets hope and pray Biden grows a backbone and confronts Putin and supplies Ukraine with the air cover they so desperately need, and provides them the MIG 29s and antimissile defense systems like the s300s and patriot missiles to shoot down the missiles Russia has been using with such devastation on Ukraine.
I can’t help but admire and wonder of the courage and resolve of the Ukrainian people and its leader Zelenskyy who has shown us what a real leader is. In many respects Ukraine is fighting a proxy war for us. I believe if Ukraine was to fall Putin would go on to other countries like Poland and Hungary. He fully intends to extend the Russian empire as in former days.
Most of all I say we should get down on our knees and pray to God to intervene, and put an end to this war with its death and destruction, and restore to Ukraine its sovereignty and borders.
