Letter_Romano is Young, Enthusiastic

Romano is Young, Enthusiastic

I write today to encourage you to vote Andrew Romano for Select Board.

Andrew Romano is Fairhaven’s future. He is young, enthusiastic, and extremely sharp. At just 26, with his family and career roots firmly planted here, our collective future is his own. I have yet to see any Selectboard candidate, in any election, take their pursuit of the position as seriously as he. He studies with sitting board members, attends every Selectboard and Finance Committee meeting, visits our departments and asks questions, and has been immersing himself in the details of what makes our government work since long before he announced his candidacy.

Mr. Romano embodies integrity and is a consummate rule follower. He will honor our by-laws and hold staff accountable without prejudice. At the same time, if change is warranted, he will pursue it doggedly. As evidenced by his professional success, Andrew is a critical and creative thinker, who is committed to considering all angles and perspectives to achieve the best outcome. He is deeply respectful of all that has made Fairhaven what it is. He also recognizes the challenges and necessity of change, and the value it can add to our pride in the Town.

As Mr. Romano noted in his “Meet the Candidates” night opening statement, he is committed to financial forecasting to enable our town to make the right decisions before crisis strikes. He has already spent time learning about all the tools available to make this possible.

I have the utmost respect for the dedication this mature and respectful individual has shared with Fairhaven through his many and diverse activities that support our community. If given the opportunity to serve on the Fairhaven Select Board, he will serve us fairly and extremely well into our next chapter.

Please join me in moving Fairhaven forward on April 1 by giving Andrew Romano a seat at the table.

Anne Morton Smith, Fairhaven
