Plastic Free July Results
The Fairhaven Sustainability Committee would like to thank all who participated in our Plastic Free July Eco-Challenge! Team Fairhaven had 54 people sign up for the event and of the 34 active members a huge impact was made!
Collectively we kept 500 pieces of plastic out of the landfill, picked up over 1,000 pieces of litter, more than 40 letters were sent to public officials and leaders, and more than nine hours were spent learning about issues surrounding plastic.
Every piece of plastic ever created still exists, and every action we take to reduce plastic makes a difference. Let’s keep the momentum going all year! Thank you to the local businesses that sponsored the event by generously donating prizes for our top scores: Start from the Bottoms Refillery, Stevie’s Wine and Spirits, Strawberry Moon, and Breakwater Surf Co.
