Monroe Supports Veitch, Pacheco
I am writing to express my support for Colin Veitch and Nicole Pacheco for the Fairhaven School Committee. Throughout my 13-year tenure on the School Committee, I’ve collaborated with numerous remarkable individuals. With his 16 years of dedication to the Fairhaven Public Schools and various town causes, Colin Veitch stands out among them. His consistent willingness to step forward and contribute his time and energy is a testament to his commitment and reliability.
Working with Colin, I’ve come to appreciate his expertise in school and municipal finance. His knowledge and understanding are invaluable in this time of economic uncertainty for the town. Colin is not easily swayed or intimidated by challenging situations. His presence on the School Committee is crucial to navigating us through these turbulent times.
In addition to his financial and school policy expertise, Colin also possesses the required soft skills. He is very patient and willing to listen to the concerns of all involved. His thorough understanding allows him to ask very pointed questions, and he can mentor new committee members like Nicole Pacheco.
While Nicole has not been a member of the Fairhaven School Committee for very long, she has shown that she is committed to doing the hard work necessary. Before her appointment to the Committee, she met with current members and the Superintendent of Schools to gain insight into how the Committee functions and current issues. She attended meetings and showed that she was serious about the commitment.
In a short time, she has already taken the full-day introductory course offered by the Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC). She has shown that she is ready to listen and learn. I am confident that Nicole will continue to grow and be a great leader for our schools and community. Having grown up in Fairhaven and having kids in our schools, she is committed to excellence in education.
Please join me in voting for Colin Veitch and Nicole Pacheco for the Fairhaven School Committee on Monday, April 1, 2024.
