Letter_Monroe has proven leadership

Monroe Has Proven Leadership

Fairhaven voters are presented with a choice of four individuals vying for two School Committee positions in this year’s town election. I am asking that your first choice be Brian Monroe.

When you cast your ballot for Brian, you choose proven leadership and a record balancing what is right for the students and for the town of Fairhaven.

Brian and I served together on the school committee from 2011 through 2021. In those 10 years, I came to recognize his strengths as a committee member. He is a kind leader, he cares about doing what’s right, always listening to his constituents and keeping them informed. He recognizes the importance of communication.

As chair for four of those years he kept the lines of communication open with board members and the community, those who wanted to be heard had their opportunity to speak and they got the information they needed.

Brian is a team player, recognizing decisions are not only his own, but he is one of 6 members. He shares his opinions openly or makes a thoughtful case for his point of view. He will speak the truth even when it might be difficult to hear. He is always respectful in his argument and values the opinion of others.

When you select Brian, you can be sure you have an excellent steward for taxpayer dollars. He has conservative views on spending, and he can balance that with what is truly best for the kids in the Fairhaven Public School district. He has always ensured that students are considered in every decision he makes while being responsible for town funds.

On April 3rd, I ask you to join me in voting for Brian Monroe for School Committee.

Stasia Powers, Fairhaven
