Kuechler Supports Powers
If you can be anything, be kind. We have seen and heard this phrase often in recent times in reference to many things. This is a tenet that I know my friend Stasia Powers lives by, and our community has benefitted greatly from that. Stasia’s approach to problem solving is open and fair, and she works hard to understand all sides of an issue to help bring resolution. She believes in people, and makes an effort to get to know them, respecting opinions that are different from hers. She can appreciate when disagreement takes place that it comes from strong feelings of those on either side. And she confidently tackles those tough loggerhead situations by believing that resolution can take place. She sees no reason for people to tear each other down, knowing full well that when efforts are made to understand, solutions follow. And she is not shy about sharing her views on something, articulating those views in ways to help others understand where she is coming from. And at the very core, if the effort to be kind drives what is being done, success is almost guaranteed. This has been Stasia’s recipe for success.
When Stasia first ran for Select Board, this was what she believed was missing. She was right, and her steady and compassionate presence has helped move forward some important efforts in the seven short months she has served. She has helped us hire a new Town Administrator. She enthusiastically engaged in the strategic planning effort the Select Board held recently, and is anxious to help move the many goals set forward. She has been an ardent advocate with our county, state, and national representatives to make sure Fairhaven’s projects and activities are being recognized and considered. She has looked for ways programs and departments can collaborate to make the most of the resources of our town. She sees the important roles that all the departments play in making our town great, and believes strongly that they all should be resourced to be able to do what is necessary to serve our community.
Stasia’s actions thus far have proven her ability to be a strong, effective leader in our town. I look forward to what her steady hand on the Select Board will bring to our community going forward. For all of those reasons, and many more, I ask for your support of my friend Stasia Powers for Select Board when you vote on April 4. Let’s continue this positive momentum to ensure a strong future for our community!!
