Hacking is Ideal Candidate
I am writing this letter in support of Fairhaven Board of Health candidate Heidi Hacking. In the last two years, we have witnessed how important the Board of Health’s role is to the safety and wellbeing of our community. Heidi Hacking is the ideal candidate to serve in this capacity.
Heidi will bring a multifaceted clinical background and extensive managerial experience in healthcare to the board and its decision-making process. A registered nurse who has worked in a variety of health career roles including emergency care, geriatric psychiatry, chronic care, nursing education, and risk management, Heidi’s range of experience and relevant professional knowledge can provide the board and our residents with informed perspectives on many aspects of public health.
Heidi has stated that her goal as a Board of Health member would be to work collaboratively and transparently with town boards and the community. After serving with her as a member of the Fairhaven Cultural Council, I believe that she can and will fulfill that goal. As chairperson of the council, Heidi was always well-prepared, organized, and managed meetings in a highly professional manner. She solicited and valued fellow members’ expertise in the arts and culture sectors, and equitably delegated tasks based on members’ strengths and skills.
Heidi also communicated effectively with our town offices and maintained communications with the Massachusetts Cultural Council on our town’s behalf. Most importantly, she treated fellow council members and members of the public with respect and listened to all concerns and opinions.
The leadership and management skills modeled by Heidi were invaluable to me as a future chairperson, and I am sure that her skills will prove an asset to this Board of Health as well.
Heidi’s outstanding qualifications, relevant career experiences, and professionalism make her the strongest candidate for the Fairhaven Board of Health, and I urge voters to support Heidi Hacking on April 4.
