Food Pantry thanks volunteers
Greetings everyone.
As the Shepherd’s Pantry goes into our 22nd year helping the area’s less fortunate, it could not have been possible without our dedicated volunteers. Of course, we depend highly on our monetary contributors and to all the folks and organizations who supply us with much needed non-perishable food. But without you, the volunteers, who wait at the pantry to unload the Boston Food purchases, or those of you who actually go pick up donated food at the schools, churches and other businesses who have food donation drop-offs, our pantry could not remain open. And that is just the beginning.
When the food arrives, it is meticulously checked for any damaged or outdated food stuffs, cleaned and packed into bags to be handed out each Saturday between the hours of 9 and 11 am.
According to James, Chapter 2, Verse 14; “What does it profit, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has not works? Can his faith save him?”….. Verse 17; “So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.”
By volunteering and helping the needy is what James was implying. You not only have faith but you’re putting your faith into action. God bless each one of you and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
