Family Contratulates Espindola
Congratulations, Bob, on your retirement from the Fairhaven Board of Selectmen
We are so incredibly proud of you. Twelve years of service to the Town of Fairhaven is quite an accomplishment. Your dedication, compassion, and sacrifice were noticed and appreciated by so many.
To some, it may have appeared as though you fulfilled your selectboard duties just once a week, but we know firsthand what the position meant to you.
We saw the time and energy you poured into learning and understanding the issues put before the selectboard. If something needed to be researched and thoroughly vetted for the best possible outcome, you were right there putting in the work.
That’s dedication.
When decisions needed to be made, you always had an open mind, and you listened intently to all involved.
That’s compassion.
Even in times when life got busy, and you had to stretch yourself in different directions, you remained steadfast in your responsibilities to the town and your fellow selectboard members.
That’s sacrifice.
You are honest and have strong moral principles.
That’s integrity.
Your time as a selectboard member was not always smooth sailing, we know that firsthand also. When faced with adversity, negativity, and outright disrespect from some, you upheld your position as a calm, fair and considerate leader. Your ability to keep your composure through what you endured was admirable.
In twelve years of service to the Town of Fairhaven, through it all — the easy and the challenging — you were unwavering and focused on facts and the proper order of the business for our town regardless of what entity, person or group was on the other side of the issue at hand.
That’s consistency.
As your siblings, the difficult times were hard for us to witness, but your professionalism and decorum never faltered, and each time these types of situations arose, you proved your dedication, compassion, sacrifice, integrity, and consistency. Truly, there are not many people who could have sustained and still conducted themselves with such grace.
As your siblings, we are immensely proud of you, and are honored to call you, our brother. Because of your repeated public display of poise and professionalism, we are proud to be Espindolas.
Mom and Dad are watching from heaven above, and we are certain they are so very proud of you also. They would be so proud of the man you have become. Your children are very lucky to have you and Ann as their loving parents and role models. We love you and Ann deeply and are so happy that you will get more time to spend with each other and with your beautiful grandchildren.
We wish you the very best in your retirement, and we thank you,
The Espindola Family
