Silva Says Support Your Local Newspaper
The Fairhaven town election was Tuesday, June 9th and polls closed at 8:00 p.m. Election results were first available at the Fairhaven Neighborhood News (on-line) Wednesday night and then printed copies Thursday morning. (Thanks Beth.)
There was no mention that I could find in The Standard Times about Fairhaven voting on Wednesday, or even Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Finally, the Sunday morning edition of the daily newspaper had our town election results on the front page. This is not to criticize the Standard Times, I have no idea what caused the delay. But, it does emphasize how valuable our own Fairhaven weekly is to us.
Beth and Fairhaven Neighborhood News are there for everything that’s important. If you appreciate that as much as I do consider kicking in a donation every once in a while. The paper is free to us, but not to her. Let’s continue to support it.
