Letter Kevin Grant picks four

May 27, 2026 by Staff Writer

Kevin Grant Picks Four in Election

I would like to take the time to endorse Miles Grant and Pam Kuechler to the Select Board, and Mona Phillips and Andrew Panek to the Planning Board.

I first met Miles when I heard he had taken out papers for the Planning Board. After speaking with him and getting to know him I was happy to endorse him last year and was very happy he was elected. He has served with clear focus, integrity and drive, and it has been a pleasure to serve with him. His contributions to the Planning Board over a short time will have a lasting effect.

As with Miles, I was introduced to Pam only after I had heard she was a candidate. Her past in education is obvious in her ability to explain complex issues with ease, making difficult concepts simple to understand. Her work with PACE informs her awareness of the social and economic challenges which we are not immune to in Fairhaven. I am grateful to have met her and am doubly grateful she is running.

Miles and Pam understand there is no easy solution or quick fix to the challenges facing Fairhaven, as they are challenges facing almost every town and city in the state, but they are willing to have those difficult conversations and confront the difficult task.

As with our Select Board candidates, I was only introduced to Mona and Andrew when I had heard they would be running. I quickly realized how lucky we are as a town to have candidates cut from this cloth. Mona’s experience on a ZBA in New Jersey coupled with her knowledge and advocacy for coastal climate change impact mitigation makes her a perfect addition to the Board. Likewise, Andrew’s vast experience in the construction industry, combined with his work at PACE in affordable housing and teaching construction skills to underprivileged youth, are all pertinent skills for the Planning Board: he has his hand on the pulse of not only our housing crisis but on the struggles of the economically disadvantaged.

All four of these candidates bring a wide array of skills and experience to the table. I enthusiastically look forward to serving with each and every one of them and I believe they are more than deserving of my support and your votes.

(These views are my own and in no way are meant to represent the views of the Planning Board on which I serve.)

Kevin Grant, Fairhaven
