Letter: Badwey supports Powers

March 16, 2022 by Staff Writer

Powers time has yielded big positive resuilts

It has been nine short months since Stasia has served on the Fairhaven Select Board and yet, during this time, she has already yielded big positive results for our community.

First and foremost, Stasia has helped create a positive culture in town hall. For myself, an optimistic and productive local government brings forth a culture that sets high standards of behavioral and procedural policies, ethics, values, attitudes towards one another, goals, and code of conduct. A municipality’s town/city government reflects one’s community, and it’s through Stasia’s polite, thoughtful, and kind demeanor that radiates onto her colleagues on the Select Board and other community members she speaks with. Every decision she has made thus far has been based on facts, logic, and reason, not ideology.

What has impressed me most about Stasia is her inclusiveness. She has helped appoint many new people to Fairhaven’s boards and committees. A new diverse pool of volunteers, who have never served in town government before, bring along fresh ideas, new insights, and a wide range of differing opinions that help move our town forward.

Lastly, I would like to thank Stasia along with the other two members of the Select Board for hiring a highly qualified town administrator. This action has restored my belief that our town’s boards can debate, discuss, and form compromises for the greater good of Fairhaven.

In conclusion, I ask that you please consider voting for Stasia Powers for a full 3-year term on the Select Board.

Mark Badwey, Fairhaven
