Pursuant to 33 U.S.C. 1341 and M.G.L. c. 21 §§ 26–53, notice is given of a 401 Water Quality Certification application for re-authorization of the Marsh Island Salt Marsh Restoration Project by the Buzzards Bay Coalition, 114 Front St., New Bedford, MA 02740 (Applicant/Owner) and the Fairhaven-Acushnet Land Preservation Trust, PO Box 491, Fairhaven, MA 02719 (Owner) on the Marsh Island conservation property on Taber Street in Fairhaven for restoration of salt marsh by removal of historically placed dredged material, reintroduction of tidal hydrology, and reestablishment of intertidal elevations with vegetated tidal wetland habitat. Additional information may be obtained from Sara Quintal, 114 Front Street, New Bedford, MA 02740, 508-999-6363 x225. Written comments should be sent to the MassDEP Southeast Regional Office, Division of Wetlands and Waterways, 20 Riverside Dr., Lakeville, MA 02347 within twenty-one days of this notice. Any group of ten persons, any aggrieved person, or any governmental body or private organization with a mandate to protect the environment who submits written comments may appeal the Department’s Certification. Failure to submit written comments before the end of the public comment period may result in the waiver of any right to an adjudicatory hearing.
