Fairhaven Planning Board Vacancy
The Fairhaven Planning Board has a vacancy following the recent resignation of one of the eight members. The Planning Board and Select Board will hold a joint Hearing on October 19, 2020 at 7:00 pm to choose one Fairhaven resident to serve on the Planning Board until the 2021 Town Election. Letters of interest may be mailed or dropped off at Town Clerk’s office in Town Hall with attention to the Planning Office, 40 Center Street, Fairhaven, MA 02719 by October 9, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. or emailed to pfoley@fairhaven-ma.gov
The Planning Board is responsible for the review of development applications for subdivisions and special permits, as well as long-range planning for the Town including Zoning Bylaw amendments, plans such as the Master Plan and recommendations on housing. The Board also sends representatives to other town com-mittees, such as the Community Preservation Committee and the Economic Development Committee. Anyone interested in serving on the Planning Board should submit a letter of interest to the Town Clerk by October 9, 2020.
