REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS FOR CPA FUNDING
The Fairhaven Community Preservation Committee will conduct two nights of Public Hearings to review twelve (12) applications for FY25 CPA funds that the CPC is reviewing for eligibility and whether to recommend to the Annual Town Meeting in 2024. The following applications will be reviewed on Wednesday, November 15, 2023:
1. BPW – Walnut Street Sidewalk – Remove and reinstall the historic brick sidewalk and remove trees ($175,000 request);
2. BPW – Phoenix Rail Trail Handicapped Accessible Table – Add an accessible table at the Bike Path at the intersection of South and Main ($5,000 request);
3. BPW – Macomber Park BMX Track – Create a new BMX bike track along the north side of Macomber Park ($370,207 request);
4. Cushman Park Pathways – Extend the paved path that goes around the park to the north and east sides of the running track ($36,000 request);
5. Fairhaven Tennis Association – Cushman Park Court Repair and Resurfacing – For the tennis courts at Cushman Park ($80,000 request);
6. Fairhaven Tennis Association – Livesey Park Court Repair and Resurfacing – For the tennis and basketball courts, and the street hockey rink at Livesey Park ($97,000 request);
7. Fairhaven Housing Authority – Window Replacement at Anthony Haven – Replace all 75 windows ($100,000 request).
The following applications will be reviewed on Thursday, November 16, 2023:
8. Town Hall – Town Hall Repairs to the Retaining Wall, Stairs, Doors, and Exterior Caulking ($370,000 request);
9. Fairhaven High School – Boiler Room Roof Replacement – Replace the boiler room’s existing ballasted EPDM roof with a new PVC roof. ($92,700 request);
10. Millicent Library – Electrical Upgrades – Upgrade to an 800 amp electrical system, create a new main electrical room, and replace and relocate the panels as necessary ($385,672 request);
11. BBC – Carvalho Woods Conservation Project – To purchase a conservation restriction on a 5.75 acre vacant lot at 144 Shaw Road ($110,000 request);
12. Fairhaven Rec Center – Recreation Center Playground Rehabilitation – Address the issues with safety and drainage, establish better maintainability, and increase ADA compliance at the Rec Center playground ($159,230 request).
