TOWN OF FAIRHAVEN PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT FAIRHAVEN, MASSACHUSETTS ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the “Town of Fairhaven, West Island Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrade” will be received by the Public Works Department at 5 Arsene Street, Fairhaven, MA 02719 until 10:00 a.m. local time on October 29, 2020 at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Sealed Bids must have outer envelope marked as “Town of Fairhaven, West Island Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrade.”
Sealed Bids from Subcontractors addressed as referenced above will be received by the Public Works Department at 5 Arsene Street, Fairhaven, MA 02719 until 10:00 a.m. on October 20, 2020 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. Sub-Bids with the required Bid deposit will be received for the following items of work:
Subtrades
Electrical Work
Painting
Plumbing
HVAC
The work consists of the replacement of flow equalization pumps, methanol feed pumps and piping, and effluent pumps and valving; upgrades to the aerobic rotating biological contactor (RBC) units including replacement of motors, chains, sprockets, and drives; abandonment of existing anoxic RBC; installation of additional secondary sludge pumps; replacement of existing sand filters with a proprietary denitrification filter system including new blowers and air piping, backwash pumps and piping, filter media and underdrains, and partition wall extensions; recoating existing tank surfaces including sand filters and RBC tanks; access and safety improvements to the pretreatment and flow equalization tanks; and various WWTF building, HVAC, plumbing and electrical system upgrades. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, as indicated in the Bid Form.

Prospective bidders must complete a one-time registration process on the web site in order to receive log-in credentials. Bidders must log in to the web site to download bidding documents for the project. Bidders will be added to the “planholders” or prospective bidders list upon downloading the bidding documents for the project.
A bid deposit shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
A pre-Bid conference will be held at the site on October 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
