TOWN OF ACUSHNET
The Acushnet Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing at its meeting on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room located at 122 Main Street Acushnet. This hearing is on the petition of NSTAR Electric Company d/b/a Eversource Energy, (“Cornerstone”) is submitting information in support of NSTAR’s plans to install an additional 115kV line within Eversource’s Right of Way #143.
Eversource Energy and National Grid propose to extend the 115-kilovolt (kV) transmission line from Acushnet, MA to Fall River, MA, to improve system reliability. The preferred route will be 12.1 miles long, and the Eversource section is 7.9 miles long running from Acushnet, through Dartmouth and ending in New Bedford.
The new transmission lines will cross above the following public ways:
1. Main Street at a location approximately 425 ft south westerly of its intersection with Heritage Lane.
1. Middle Road at a location approximately 331 ft north easterly of its intersection with Fairway Drive.
1. Park Drive at a location approximately 446 ft north easterly of its intersection with Wild Rose Lane.
