High winds on Friday, 3/7/25, resulited in a large maple tree on Linden Street in Fairhaven crashing down, crushing one car and damaging two others in the morning. The tree also took out a pole on the corner of Castle Avenue, leaving it dangline horizontally with the signs still attached to it.
GBK Company, the town’s on-call tree service, quickly cut up the tree and removed it. Eversource was on hand by early afternoon working to remove the remants of the pole and replace it. Power was restored later that day.
According to Highway Superintendent Josh Crabb, only a handful of houses lost power.
He said no one was hurt, and there were no other large trees down in Fairhaven during the storm.
