Leah (Ketchum) DeArruda is Fairhaven born and raised. She went to Fairhaven Public Schools, and now lives in the Town Center with her husband and 1 year old daughter. She is pregnant with another, due in the spring.
Shortly after discovering their family would be growing, her husband Brad was diagnosed with testicular cancer. For many, this diagnosis is scary, but full recovery can usually be made with surgery. Brad’s cancer has spread, and he has started chemotherapy.
In an already stressful situation, the family has learned that their insurance may not cover the cost of chemotherapy. Brad is a welder, and can not work during treatment. Leah works customer service for a roofing company.
This is an average family, and they desperately need our help.
