Oh no….the dog days of summer are seriously interfering with my brilliant journalism. And, to add insult to injury, the water flushing has been in the neighborhood.
But, we muddled through.
We have a positively eye-opening story about former Fairhaven elected official Michael Ristuccia (Michael P, not to be confused with Michael J) on page 3. For those of you who revel in the detilas, there are more than 60 documents online that you can delve into. Enjoy!
The Concerts Under the Stars continue (page 12), but there aren’t that many left. What fun it is on a Thursday night in the center of Fairhaven! Hundreds of people find a spot on the lawn of the Millicent Library, or around the town hall and listen to free music, while kids play outside and people literally dance in the street. There are oly three left, so be sure to get there soon.
Lots of happenings this weekend and beyond, including the annual Teddy Bear parade on Saturday (see page 13).
Two new events are also happening this weekend. The Firefighters Association is having a Foam Day at Cushman Park (see page 13). Doesn’t that sound like fun? Oh, calm down, it’s not fire suppressant foam (although it might work for that). It’s just Dawn soap and water. Be sure to take your bathing suit.
And the Belonging Committee’s DisABILITY Pride event is on Sunday at the Senior Center (see page 13). That’s in a nice air conditioned space, too.
Both events will help keep you cool on what is supposed to be a really, really (really) hot weekend.
