Well, Town Meeting is upon us. Time to decide a whole bunch of things, including whether or not we want this override (see page 4).
Passions ran a bit high at FinCom. Now, I love a good fight, and I’m not below calling names, not by a long shot, but…hey, at least be right when you do it, huh? Geesh. See page 3 for that.
Do you think we can also not begrudge people the chance to move on and get a better job? Really, folks, what law says that if you get a job in town hall you have to stay there until you retire? Are some of those moves because of personality conflicts? Probably. I’ve left a job or two myself because of that. But, still, let’s let people live their best lives and not try to handcuff them to the desk.
And, it’s happening in adjacent towns, too, so… Competition is stiff out there.
There’s all kinds of stuff in here this week: Fairhaven Select Board (page 9), Town Meeting preview (page 17), Employee salaries (page 13), BPW (27), remembering the Bouchard oil spill 20 years ago (16).
And of course, our cover story on page 16, Arbor Day planting with the high school kids.
We also have a few letters, with people weighing in on the override/budget (set page 19).
And, the happenings pages are officially getting really hard because so much is starting to happen as the weather warms up (really?).

And if you go to a local place that doesn’t advertise with us, be sure to tell them you read the Neighb News. Maybe they’ll take the hint.
Until next week then…see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
