So, when you voted for pot shops in 2016, did you know we might get a couple in Fairhaven? Huh? Did you, did you?
Planning Board Chairperson Wayne Hayward (see page 4), thinks that most people who voted “yes” for pot, did not know they were voting for retail shops, with one or more that could be in town.
Geesh. Give it up already. I’m so tired of people telling me I did not know what I voted for. I absolutely, positively, unequivocally voted to be able to walk into a place and buy some pot without needing some stupid medical card or being tracked by Big Brother.
It’s pot. It’s here to stay. Learn to deal with it.
On another note, sniff, sniff, and in another part of our little free sheet this week, is a clear sign that summer is pretty much over. WAHHHHH….the bus schedule ad is in this issue.
Of course, the weather will do what it wants, whether school starts or not.
It just seems like it took a long while for this season to get off the ground, then, when it did, it was so hot it stifled much of the normal activity.
On the bright side, though, it means that the big feast and the yummy mallassadas are only a couple of weeks away. Yum is right.
We have other stuff in here, of course.
Alex Sylvaria, whose Eagle Project has been mentioned a couple of times as he has appeared before various boards, has been working very hard on it. The old stone building that was not even visible from most spots on the bike path, is now accessible, and even looks like a cool place to explore. See page 17 for the details on what he did and what is still to come.
One of the things I mention in the article briefly is a short stone pier that juts out into Little Bay. If you’ve got little ones, it’s a great place to teach someone how to fish. It’s not a long walk, but it’s long enough to give little legs a workout. It’s wide and not very deep. There are no railings, though, so keep that in mind.
Now, as you walk to the pier from the little parking lot, you feel that it’s a well kept place, not a scary spot. There are picnic tables near the lot, a bench at the pier, and I think people even catch keepers there. It seems to me that it would be more of a small scup place, but some people say they have caught some big fish there. I’ll have to try it myself one day.
Meanwhile, take a walk, a hike, or a ride, and see what Alex has done there.
There’s some fun stuff coming up for this weekend, too. So be sure to thumb through all the pages to find out what’s going on. And don’t forget to notice who our advertisers are and tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News, and thank them for supporting the little paper with a big voice. Until next week then…see ya,
