Okay, Spring…it’s time to show up: We changed the clocks, we did our part. Your turn.
Brrr….it’s still cold out there.
The kids at the high school are showing us how it’s done! (See page 17.) They joined a national walkout to support their LGBTQ+ peers. The adults are doing everything they can to limit the ability of people to just live their lives in peace. These kids are having none of it. I like that. I like that a lot. We’ve got our share of neanderthal thinkers around here. I hope this generation can take ’em on once and for all.
We have a new Town Administrator. Not that they mentioned it in the meeting, but…I know it’s true, I do, I do! Angie Lopes Ellison will start on 4/4. That’s election day, so…yeah, that should be fun.
When you see her around town, be sure to be welcoming, okay? Let’s not hit her too hard with all our drama right away. Let’s try to ease into it so she doesn’t run for the western hills.
We have some candidate statements this week, a couple of the uncontested races. We’ll get the rest of them in next week, I hope.
Meanwhile, we have the candidates night by the Government Access channel next week. You can send in questions to that one. See page 5 for that.
And, welcome Lori Richard to the Neighb News. She will mostly be covering Acushnet, but we might throw in a few Fairhaven fun stories here and there. Yes, she’s married to Chris Richard, and yes, he filed all the appropriate paperwork. But, really folks, we pay crap. I assure you it ain’t enough to compromise anyone’s integrity.
Please be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
And keep Ukraine in your thoughts. They are tough, they really are. They are an inspiration.
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the heroes!
