We are getting back to normal in these parts. The holiday events are picking up.
This weekend the volunteers of the North Fairhaven Improvement Association will be decorating the square (page 3) for the big lighting event on 12/3 (page 5).
The door decorating contest is on (page 3), and Santa is scheduled to arrive at events all over the place.
And, it’s the big shopping weekend!
Please try to use our advertisers for your shopping needs. Gift certificates fit EVERYONE, right? See page12 for a few ideas on how you can use Neighb News advertisers to get all your shopping done.
We have a snag in our Town Administrator search. The board is being proactive, though, and taking steps to get the work done. See page 4 for that.
And…we have a hazing incident with some of our high school athletes (see page 11).
The school is not telling us exactly what the incident was, but, the athletes are banned for the whole hockey season. That tells me it was a little more than making someone wear a funny hat.
This is where we came in 17 years ago (okay, a month away from the 17). Our first year we had that horrible hazing incident that got national attention. It’s sad to think that things may not have changed much from then. It also saddens me to hear some people saying the kids should just be left to do what they want and not be disciplined. Really, people, you can’t be serious. These kids need to cut the crap. In order to do that they need adults around them that will not put up with it.
Well, there’s other stuff in here, of course. Please be sure to notice who our advertisers are as you thumb through so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
And, during this time of giving, don’t forget us. Our advertisers are great, but, there just aren’t enough of them. Until next week then…
