Brrr…it’s dismal out there.
Let’s hope it warms up for the weekend. We have some fun stuff coming up (see page 3).
The annual Kids Fest is at the office of tourism. That sounds like lots of fun.
And Sunday, the fire department is holding its annual open house. That’s always a fun event. Sparky the Fire Dog will be there, and there’ll be food, too.
So, try to get to at least one of those events while it’s still warm enough to do stuff outside.
You know how that can change around here, though, right?
Looks like they’re actually serious about replacing our beloved/hated bridge (see page 12). I know, I know…I should have a cool pic of the bridge on the cover, but, I forgot! How’s that? I simply forgot to get out there and take one until it was too late.
Alas…
To the people who want to just eliminate the bridge and completely cut us off from “the city” across the river, I say…what are you NUTS? This is America. We’re supposed to go through stuff, or over stuff, or under stuff. But we don’t let STUFF, like rivers, stop us in our tracks.
Besides, all those people will be meandering through Fairhaven to get to the city. That will be fun, huh?
We have other meeting coverage for you this week: Fairhaven BPW on 5, Acushnet Selectboard on 16.
We also have some fun stuff. A new pharmacy opened up in Fairhaven. Brian Meneses wants to bring back the old time pharmacies, where they even deliver. No, really, he does. See page 19.
There’s other stuff in here, of course, so be sure to turn every page. And make a note of who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then…see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
