So, we had quite the crazy weekend in these parts, huh?
Our fun little feast attracted some bad actors (see page 12). Somehow the worst of it stayed off the feast grounds, but still, it’s disheartening to have it happen here. I guess it was just a matter of time.
And West Island had some not-so-good excitement too (see page 3).
Meanwhile, the primary election was ths week. I know primaries are not that exciting, but 12.75% turnout in Fairhaven, and 14.36% in Acushnet, are pretty bad numbers. I hope more people are going to vote in November.
Acushnet’s Apple Peach Festival is this weekend (see page 7). The two-day fest is lots of fun, with music, food, vendors. So be sure to get out and enjoy the sunshine.
Speaking of Acushnet…they held their car cruise in the center of town last week (see page 13). Lots of cool old cars.
And the Teddy Bear parade was this weekend. Cutest thing ever. (See page 14.)
And did you know it’s Libary Card Signup Month? (See page 5). The Libraries are doing all kinds of stuff in honor of that. So go to your local library. Learn about all they have to author. You’ll be pleasantly surprised, I think.
There’s other stuff in here, of course, including lots of happenings. Make sure you notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then, see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
