It is with mixed feelings that I note the fabulous OLOA Feast is this weekend (see page 5). Alas, as much as I love the feast, it means that summer is ending.
Make sure you get to the feast at least long enough to get the best mallassadas on planet earth! Oh, they’re so good. But, you’ll be waiting in line for them, so be prepared.
The procession is on Monday at 1. They take that huge 800-pound statue and walk it up and then back down Main Street, all the way from St. Mary’s Church to Benoit Square and back. More people turn out to watch the procession than go to the parades, so, check it out. It’s lots of fun.
This weekend also marks the last breakfast buffet at the West Island (page 5). Sniff, sniff. Goodbye, summer.
We also have our state primary election on Tuesday, and this year we have a bunch of contested races. So, do your homework, figure out who you want in there, and get out and VOTE!
Next weekend the fun continues with the Apple-Peach Festival (see page 17). So keep your weekends open for the fun stuff coming up.
There’s other stuff in here, of course, so be sure to check out every page.
And be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until week then..see ya,
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!
