It’s here! Festa weekend (see page 3). The OLOA Feast is on.

But before that, Acushnet is having its annual Cruise Night in the center of town tonight (Thursday). See page 7 for details on that. And next weekend is the Apple Peach Festival, but this weekend is the Miss Apple Peach Pageant (see page 7).

Mass DOT has announced a couple of projects that will affect our driving in these parts for months, one for years. See pages 5 and 6 for that. Let’s hope the Route 18 project is worth the mess (page 6), with five years of lane closures, it had better make things better. Ugh.

We have some meeting coverage for you. The Fairhaven Select Board met and talked about all kinds of stuff, including the litigation around the Rogers School. Geesh. That one is taking forever (see page 4).

Our cover story was fun to go to. The monthly Huttleston Harborfest was packed with activities for kids and adults. And the Jellyfishbot got its name. See page 12 for that.

The NFIA Open Air Market also had lots of activity on Saturday (see page 13). And little Broxo was there, too. I got a great picture of the little dog, but didn’t have room for it. Maybe I’ll put it online…if my brain remembers.

Both these parks are great spots. We are lucky to have them: Grimshaw with its courts and the breeze off the water; Livesey with its trees, wide open field, skate park, and courts. Check them out when you have a chance.

Meanwhile, the Big Buffoon now wants to send people to prisons in Uganda. It should be against international law for a country to send people to prisons in other countries. How is this okay? How can people support this? I don’t care what you think he did, he should be dealt with in this country, with all due process. All due process, not tossed around at the whim of an authoritarian nut job.

We have military in our streets acting as police; people getting snatched and thrown in prison or sent to other countries without their day in court; a president who says he can do what he wants even if the courts disagree; and people still support him.

It’s amazing how many people in this country do not even know what the “rule of law” means.

I don’t know what it will take to stop this guy, but we had better figure it out soon or we will simply just not be the USA anymore.

You’re in a cult. Wake up.

There’s other stuff in here, of course. While you’re paging through, be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.

Until next week, then, see ya,

Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
