It’s May! We made it through the winter. And that means Town Meeting this weekend. Traditionally, we run the employee salaries in this issue right before Town Meeting. But, I did not do that this year. It would have meant running 28 pages to get in 7 1/2 pages of names. And there would not be room for much else. That would just cost a lot more to print, for very little gain. The salaries are available in the town’s Annual Report on the town’s website, and you can also go to town hall and get a printed copy. There will be copies at Town Meeting, too.

The pressure to stop publishing a printed version is very real and getting stronger. I know most of my readers like the printed paper. Not everyone has the Internet, or has a computer to use it. Not everyone likes reading news on their phones. But the financial situation cannot continue the way it has been going.

In addition to our advertisers, we need our readers to contribute. Sign up for the email version. If we get enough email subscribers, then we can stop the printed paper and our advertisers will still be getting in front of enough eyeballs to make it worth their while.

And, yes, I am still confused and heartbroken that so many of my fellow Americans are still supporting the Big Buffoon in DC. Do you really hate our country so much that you are happy with his destruction of it? How can anyone be okay with people getting detained for no reason, having their lives upended, and maybe even being “disappeared” for good by our government, OUR government, the United States of America. The gold standard for due process and the rule of law…previously, anyway. I’ve seen the comments…get ’em out of here…they’re criminals…. they’re bad people. So now we’re afraid of bad people? You’re saying we can’t handle them? Elliot Ness is rolling in his grave.

Of course, it has nothing to do with that. It’s all about the “other.” For now anyway. Soon, there will be no distinction.

Ronald Reagan said: “We lead the world because, unique among nations, we draw our people — our strength — from every country and every corner of the world. And by doing so we continuously renew and enrich our nation. While other countries cling to the stale past, here in America we breathe life into dreams. We create the future, and the world follows us into tomorrow. Thanks to each wave of new arrivals to this land of opportunity, we’re a nation forever young, forever bursting with energy and new ideas, and always on the cutting edge, always leading the world to the next frontier. This quality is vital to our future as a nation. If we ever closed the door to new Americans, our leadership in the world would soon be lost.”

Take heed, Trumpers. This is not about “illegals” or criminals. It’s about the “other.” That’s why they are grabbing people who have a legal right to be here, people with valid visas. And, even American citizens now.

You do not love our country. You hate it. You are cheering on its destruction. And we will fight you with everything we have.

Oh, Canada…good job. Good job indeed.

Until next week then, see ya,

Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
