We’ve got lots of fun stuff for you this week, starting with our cover story.
Becoming an Eagle Scout is no easy task. It takes real commitment. But Acushnet’s Troop 11 just got three new Eagle Scouts. See page 12 for details.
The Fairhaven Select Board met for the first time after the election. See page 4 for details on that, including the swearing in of some Junior Deputy Tree Wardens. Let’s hope the younger generation will learn to love trees and protect our street trees and our town’s magnificent tree canopy.
We had a touch of the eclipse this week, too (see page 14). Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get out there myself to get a shot of the actual eclipse. But, somehow, it’s kind of fun, though, to see pictures of my neighbors all looking at the sun with their special glasses.
We also have news on a shed fire (see page 11); a food drive (see page 13); and an author talk about a Hetty Green book (see page 13). The Hetty talk filled up the auditorium, including the balcony. We even got a couple of letters (see page 8) about how great that talk was.
There’s other stuff in here, of course. The events of the season are really starting to pick up (pages 5, 6, 7). Keep an eye on our Happenings pages because every week there’s new stuff happening, including some Earth Day stuff soon…the May stuff…then…SUMMER! Oh, wow, am I ready or what?
Be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News. And, thank you for reading my little weekly miracleş
Until next week then, see ya
