The voters have spoken. See page 3 for the results of the Fairhaven election this week. A couple of newcomers, and a few returning veterans made it.
The candidates had a chance to speak to the voters one last time, which is always a fun event.
Acushnet is facing a budget shortfall, too (see page 8). Seems like everyone is in the same boat and the state is not helping much. Both Fairhaven and Acushnet will be struggling with the deficits and working like crazy to close the gap before their respecive Town Meetings, when the budgets have to get passed. Stay tuned.
Both Acushnet and Fairhaven had egg hunts this weekend. See pages 13 & 14 for some pictures of the young’uns and their adults. Sam Simoes took headed out to Acushnet for us and did a great job. Hopefully you’ll be seeing him around shooting for us, so be sure to say “hey,” and let him know you read the Neighb News.
We had a couple of mistakes in last week’s issue (gulp!). One was a doozy…I got it exactly backwards. Sorry about that Bob (see below). The other was not much better. Sorry Diane. I was sooooo sure I got everyone in there. Alas.
Until next week then, see ya

CORRECTIONS/CLARIFICATIONS
In our Select Board story last week, we misinterepreted what Mr. Espindola said about the budget shortfalls. What he said was that the Department of Revenue Report from 2022 showed a healthy financial outlook with the town’s policies resulting in healthy free cash and very substantial stabilization funds up until that time. We apologize for getting it wrong, and for any confusion our error may have caused.
Heartfelt apologies to Dianne Tomassetti for inadvertently leaving out her sign in the cover graphic last week. It was not intentional.
