It’s game time!
The Fairhaven election is this Monday. And pretty much this whole issue is filled up with election stuff.
The candidates night story is a long one, but I broke it up into races for you. Each race actually deserves its own story. but we just don’t have the extra week to split it up. See page 3 for the start of that recap.
And letters to the editor….pages of ’em. We even have a couple we’ll put online because we just don’t have the room for them.
And, I totally blew off the Select Board budget meeting that was supposed to go on page 3, but I used that page for the candidate night instead. Hopefully we’ll get to that next week. Although, things have changed…
On deadline day, the Big Buffoon in DC decided to cut off $106 million in funding to Massachusets schools. So, keep that in mind as you read the candidate story about school funding. Candidates mentioned $1 million less in funding if that happened, but I’m not sure how accurate that number is now that we have the amount that idiot is stealing from us. Yeah, stealing. This state gives way more in income taxes to the federal government than we get back. I think it’s time to seriously stop sending them our money. I’d gladly give it directly to the state to stay here where we can use it for our own stuff like…oh, gee I don’t know, schools? Highways? We shouldn’t have to beg the feds when we give them way more than we get back to begin with. Let those other states who voted for this buffoon pay for his tax cuts to billionaires and his golf trips and corporate subsidies to his biggest campaign donor, oh and attacking Greenland of all places.
Meanwhile…VOTE on Monday 4/7. Polls are open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the Recreation Center
We also have a fun story about bottling wine on page 18, and some tips for an eco-frendly lawn on page 16.
