The TRAIN! The TRAIN! OMG, people are going to faint. It’s here, it’s really here!!!!
Well, by now you probably know a couple of things about me. One: I don’t do mornings well. Two: I was skeptical of this whole train thing.
Hence, I was not one of the people waiting at 4:27 a.m. to see the first train off to the Big City.
But this monumental occasion must be acknowledged by this little free sheet. (See page 11.)
I find myself thinking of my Aunt Cil (see 2/13/25 issue/editorial) who took the train to Boston every day for weeks to go to hairdressing school in the 50s…or may the 40s.
I have every intention of riding the T to Boston soon to let you know how it all works.
And the governor and other state officials actually found SouthCoast! That’s more amazing than anything. Whodathunkit? I was ready to bet they’d get lost, but…well, we have GPS now, right?
Meanwhile, I’ve seen so many stories about how we can enjoy the Big City and what to do when you get there. I will definitely be writing a story for the Boston folks to know what to do when they get to new Bedford. We have lots of cool stuff here.
Okay, now a hard one. I’ve been avoiding this discussion for a long time, but the Big Buffoon in DC made things worse, of course. My printer gets their newsprint from Canada. Now, I’m already so far behind paying them that I’m amazed they keep printing this thing. With the increase, I truly, truly, do not know how this is all going to work.
So, if you like this little free sheet, please donate. It’s easy. Just click on the “donate now” button on our website to go to PayPal, or send a check. Any amount will help.
And to those of you who just read that and laughed out loud or giggled with glee, I say: May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits.
There’s other stuff in here, of course. While you explore, please notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then, see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
