I have a note in here: “Nazgul for the win.”
You know Nazgul, the German Shepherd that crashed the cross country skiing race in the Olympics. But…that seems ages ago.
What a freaking storm, huh
We have storm coverage on page 12, and a storm-stranded story on page 3, and more pictures on page 19.
The big story here is that the neighbors all pitched in to help each other. They helped Bob get unstuck, they plowed streets when the BPW couldn’t get here.
This was not a storm that you could just ignore and run over unless you had a big truck (yeah, we saw you and we were jealous).
I did manage to get out (thanks to my neighbors), but it was deadline day so I didn’t go too far.
I’m happy to run your pics next week if you have some you want to share.
As of press time, there are still people without electricity. I was lucky here, we only lost power for a few hours. God bless those utility guys. They got out there in some crazy stuff to get us back up and running.
Those guys are TOUGH!
Speaking of tough, our BPW guys are, too. I heard ‘em at 3 a.m. today. You go guys! And thank you for getting us cleared out. My neighbors did their best, but nothing beats that big equipment, huh?
I sooo much to say, but the printer is waiting for this baby to get to bed.

We got news that Biff MacLean died this week. He started out in Fairhaven and became one of the state’s most powerful politicians. I honestly don’t know a ton about him. I do know that he was instrumental in getting the wildlife reservation on West Island. And for that, we should all be grateful.
