Wow, the Frankie column hit 100 this week. That is quite the accomplishment. That’s a little more than two years of writing nearly every week (we publish 48 issues/ year).
Thank you, Frankie. Our readers really enjoy your advice. Keep on writing!
Well, the election in Fairhaven might have a few sparks. Nothing for Select Board, but Planning and School Committee both have contested races. See page 3 for details.
I have no clue if those races will be feisty or not. But we’ll keep you informed.
Our cover story is something that has been on the minds of anyone who is anywhere near the tides at any time of year. If you’ve been driving by the shore in the last decade or two, you have probable noticed that the tides are making it to the road a lot more often.
The town is embarking on an effort to identify those places and put in a plan to mitigate the effects of rising sea levels (see page 12). There will be at least one more meeting for the public to weigh in, so stay tuned. .
Our own Fairhaven TV/Cable Access crew won two of the awards they were nominated for (see page 14). They are quite the creative bunch, and they are having lots of fun. All the pieces are available online, too, so you don’t have to feel left out.
There’s lots of other stuff in here, of course, including quite the uptick in events/happenings. Things are picking up.
Be sure to notice who our advertisers are as you thumb through. Let them know you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then…
see ya,
