The rain is crazy out there as I write this. The wind is pretty wild, too.
We had just a couple of inches of snow last weekend, but some not too far away got socked. I can’t imagine how much snow this rain would translate to if the temperature was just a little bit colder.
Say dry, everyone.
We’ve got a bunch of good stuff for you this week.
See Fairhaven Select Board on page 3. I know, I know, department reports may sound boring, but, y’know, there’s some good info in there.
There are a few MLK events going on in New Bedford and at BCC. See page 14 for that.
The Moby-Dick Marathon is on page 12. I love that event. I love going in time for the Culture*Park production of Chapter 40. And in the reading room, I love how it’s filled with people just quietly following along. And I especially like that it’s free. Of course, there’s all kinds of other stuff on marathon weekend, including paid dinners, etc. But the reading part. That’s just kind of cool. Every year I meet new people who traveled here just for this event. It’s quite the thing.
And, something a little different, also special to our part of the world: Oyster planting in Little Bay. See page 13 to find out why!
We also have a few fun little tidbits in here for you. Just thumb through and you’ll find it all.
And while you do, please be sure to notice who our adverisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then, see ya
