Voting for Charlie Murphy
I wanted to let you know that I will be voting for Charlie Murphy for Selectman in this year’s local election in Fairhaven*. Here’s why:
Charlie believes in the power of leadership over showmanship. Charlie isn’t going to be the selectman pounding the table and demanding answers. He prefers diplomacy and building relationships to resolve problems.
It’s easy to demand answers, get angry, antagonize opponents; it’s difficult to build bridges and it requires patience to gather facts for peaceful resolution. Charlie has done that throughout his tenure as selectman, and especially during these uncertain times, we need that continued seasoned leadership.
Another thing: Charlie shows up. I’ve seen Charlie at every meeting, every parade, at every holiday event. Charlie is there. He doesn’t use his office for personal gain — he uses it to represent us, to promote all things Fairhaven, and to be a leader.
