President could use some of that religion
A couple of letters, narratives or opinions have been published by the Fairhaven Neighborhood News in the last two weeks. Both were written by the same author and both were themed at bringing attention to where we all are on the Christian Religion calendar. It seems the author always gets busy with his pen during Christmas and Easter, two hallmark Christian events.
Detailed quotes and verses from the bible are always used as reference in supporting the education attempted.
There are many more religions in the world. The various sects of Christianity being one.
I refer to the phrase in describing various religions: “one river many streams.”
All religions carry a moral guide to follow. If everyone followed this guide, the world would be a better place.
I wish the author would somehow direct his attempted effort to the current POTUS [President of the United States].
It seems there is no moral compass at the White House today.
Lying, infidelity, treating staff like fodder, bringing back the concept of prejudice and hate, and duping the US citizens is against any moral code of ANY religion.
Our POTUS is the human Teflon man…nothing sticks.
Here’s a quote a from the novel written by Charles Dickens’s novel A Tale of Two Cities: “It was the best of “times, it was the worst of times.”
My translation would leave out “the best of times’ in describing the current political atmosphere in Washington DC.
It was AND is “the worst of times.”
In my lifetime, there has never been an administration that is so corrupt in so many ways. It’s an atmosphere that portrays a label of sacrilegious.
We need role models for the youth of this great country. The current POTUS is anything but that.To paraphrase an opening statement by a self help group…My name is Stephen and I am a liberal democrat.
Stephen C. Bender, Mattapoisett
