Celebrate the Limerick Contest Winners!
The prizes in the Friends of the Millicent Library Limerick Contest will be announced at a party in the library auditorium at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 14.
The winners in six categories will read their winning limericks and receive prizes. Cal Wingate and friends will provide music, and the Friends of the Millicent Library will serve refreshments. As a special treat, Fairhaven poet Maggi Peirce will read some of her own limericks, inspired by helping to judge the contest.
The judges were Janice Randall, Maggi Peirce, and Chris Richard. They were given the limericks with names and identifying information removed to ensure impartiality.
In addition to four age categories, the judges awarded prizes for limericks about Fairhaven and limericks about current events.
