Free outdoor adventures for school vacation week

Looking for a way to keep the whole family entertained during February school vacation? We’ve got you covered. 

You can fill up school vacation week with outdoor activities around Buzzards Bay by attending a Bay Ad­ven­ture, the Buzzards Bay Coalition’s signature outdoor exploration program series.

The Coalition has planned some­thing new and exciting for each day of February school vacation break at locations all around the watershed. All ages are welcome!

Exploring the beach can be fun in winter! On these free family programs, you’ll discover the plants and animals that live on Buzzards Bay in winter.

Sat., 2/15, 10 a.m.–Noon Saturday at the Sawmill: Winter Wildlife. The Sawmill, 32 Mill Road, Acushnet

Mon. 2/17, 10–11:30 a.m. Make Your Own Birdfeeder, Headwaters Conservation Area, 209 Blossom Rd., Westport

Tues., 2/18, 10–11:30 a.m. Sandy Surprise Beach Exploration, Fort Taber Park, 1000 So. Rodney French Blvd., New Bedford

Wed., 2/19, 1–3 p.m. Outdoor Obstacles, The Sawmill, 32 mill Road, Acushnet)

Thurs., 2/20, 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Marsh Madness, Little Bay Conservation Area, 12 Little Bay Road, Fairhaven

Fri., 2/21, 5–6 p.m. Sunset Walk, Monks Park, Valley Bars Circle,   Bourne

Sat. 2/22, 10 .m.–Noon Maple Tapping, LaPalme Farm, Blain Street, Acushnet)

Can’t make it for a Bay Adventure? Create your own adventure from our list of kid-friendly outdoor activities your family can try any time.

The Buzzards Bay Coalition is a membership-supported nonprofit organization dedicated to the protec­tion, restoration, and sustainable use and enjoyment of Buzzards Bay and its watershed.
