The Millicent Library is pleased to announce a free class, “Understanding American Government,” Federal and State Governments, Elections, and Democracy. This class is designed to provide citizens with a comprehensive understanding of State and Federal Governments and how they interact with one another. This informative and engaging course will cover fundamental topics including separation of powers, political parties, electoral process, and more.
This course will be led by local attorney and Fairhaven resident, Ellen Nelson. Ellen has a Bachelors of Arts degree in History and Political Science from the University of Mass. and a Juris Doctor from the Cardozo School of Law in New York. She has taught classes on government and introduction to law at community colleges and privately.
The course will be held on Saturdays, 1:30 to 2:30 from March 16 through March 30, at the Millicent, 45 Center St., Walnut Street entrance.
