Forty years ago, The Z was saved from the wrecking ball by community visionaries. To honor their conviction and celebrate 40 consecutive years of live performances, we’re inviting the community behind the curtain to reveal the theater’s future!
Join us at 11:00 and be among the first to see the drawings and plans for a renovated and reimagined Zeiterion — created with the community at heart.
Following, enjoy tours of backstage and other places not often seen by the public, the screening of our short film “The Zeiterion: A Complex Magic Machine” and performances by artists from NB Symphony Orchestra, NB Festival Theatre, and The Zeiterion. No ticket or RSVP needed.

• 1:00: Erin Ban and Matt Ban perform three songs from New Bedford Festival Theatre’s upcoming musical, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas

The event will also feature several performances by Ed Wawrzynowicz of the Eastern Mass. Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society on The Z’s Mighty Wurlitzer Organ and New Bedford Symphony Orchestra musicians dazzling us with classical selections!
