Since 1976, Boston’s First Night® has been a New Year’s Eve celebration of artistic performances and the beginning of a new year. In keeping with this fantastic Boston tradition, the First Night celebration will open 2026 with an array of performances and other activities.
PARADE
We’re thrilled to welcome back our First Night Parade that will take colorful and celebratory groups from City Hall Plaza to Boston Common at 6:00 PM. Once the performers pass by, the public is invited to walk along to the Boston Common, where fireworks will begin at 7:00 PM.
FIREWORKS:
The Mugar Family Fireworks, Boston Common, 7:00 PM. Following the First Night Parade, enjoy a glittering fireworks display over Boston Common. Presented by The Mugar Foundation
Harbor Fireworks, Boston Inner Harbor, 12:00 AM. At the stroke of midnight, the dazzling First Night Harbor Fireworks will light up Boston’s Inner Harbor and city skyline to welcome the new year. Presented by Meet Boston
