Press Release
The Fairhaven Public Schools held a safety drill as part of a professional development training on Thursday, March 21. School administration in collaboration with Town first responders planned the drill over the course of several months. The goal of the simulation was to test the internal systems and protocols within the schools as well as response time. It was also used as an opportunity to boost confidence of staff and faculty in the event that something similar may occur.
Town first responders used the drill as an opportunity to test their systems and protocols such as response times, mutual aid capabilities and incident command structure.
The simulation was a team effort by all parties to test the systems in place. The Schools will use the feedback provided from staff after the drill to continue to work with Town first responders to continuously improve the plan.
