Less than 6% of voters turned out for the Acushnet election Saturday, 5/18/24, at the Acushnet Elementary School, where all precincts voted. There were no contested races on the ballot, and there were three vacancies. A total of 498 ballots were cast out of 8,573 registered voters, for a turnout of 5.8%.
Kevin Gaspar was re-elected to his seat on the Selectboard with 437 votes; Francis Mello was elected Assessor with 438 votes; David Davignon was re-elected to the Board of Health with 452 votes; John Howcroft was re-elected to School Committee with 439 votes; Richard Ellis was re-elected to the Planning Commission with 433 votes; Peter John Giampa was elected to fill an unexpired term on Planning with 425 votes; Paul Fortin was re-elected to the Cemetery Board with 460 votes; Alan Miner was elected to the Library board of Trustees with 442 votes; Chad Leclair was re-elected Park Commissioner with 443 votes; Andrew Gomes was re-elected to the Housing Authority with 439 votes;
Commissioner of Trust Funds had two vacant spots on the ballot, one for a full term and one for the remainder of an unexpired term. No names were on the ballot.
Trustee of the Free Public Library also had one vacant seat on the ballot.
