Festival of Lights
Clasky Common Park, Sun., 12/3, at 5:00 p.m. Clasky Common Park at County and Pope Streets. Join the countdown celebration to illuminate festive displays of dazzling lights throughout Clasky Common Park. Members of the Parker Elementary School chorus will perform and Santa Claus is expected to join the celebration! See page 10 for neighborhood tree lightings in New Bedford.
Holiday Shop & Stroll & Tree Light
Downtown New Bedford, Fri. & Sat., 12/1 & 2, 4–7 p.m.
Sat. 12/1 4–7 p.m., Jingle & Mingle Shopping Stroll: Shop your way through downtown galleries and boutique stores. Enjoy food tastings, gift buying, live music and plenty of holiday cheer. Continue your evening with dinner with dinner and drinks at one of downtown New Bedford’s many electic eateries or the Arts Aglitter: Party for the Arts even at NBAM/Artworks!
Sun., 12/2, noon–4 p.m., Jingle & Mingle Family Stroll: Shop local while enjoying family fun throughout downtown. Photos with Santa, fire truck rides, street performers, hands-on activities, Harmony & A Chord youth performance series, followed by the annual tree lighting.
TREE LIGHTING: At 4:30 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will lead a parade up William Street to the Main Library. The parade will feature the award-winning New Bedford High School Whaler Marching Band and the All-City Middle School Marching Band and Color Guard. The countdown celebration will begin at 5 p.m. with greetings from elected officials and an appearance by Santa Claus!
